Grandma.
As a child, Matthew Rodriguez watched his grandmother choose layers of blankets on the living-room floor over her bed. She said it felt better for her.
Years later, his own experience and his work as a massage therapist in a chiropractor’s office brought that memory back. He wanted a firmer surface without sleeping on his basement floor.
His answer was plywood, a yoga mat and a prototype sized for his side of the bed.

Will it fit my bed or couch?
The prototype is 24 × 48 inches. Measure the surface you have in mind; we have not confirmed compatibility with every bed or couch. Final dimensions and use guidance will be published before paid orders open.
Can I fold it to put it away?
No. BackMat has a rigid core and is designed to stay flat. Check for a flat storage space that can accommodate the full footprint.
